2012 appears to be the year of the Danes, as a third European Poker Tour stop in a row was won by a player from Denmark. To pull off the feat, Jannick Wrang not only had to beat out an extremely tough final table, but then also had to beat Olivier “livb112” Busquet, perhaps the greatest heads-up tournament player of all time.
PokerStars puts in a lot of effort to rise above the other online poker rooms, and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) is an example of this. The PCA is hosted by PokerStars every year as a start to their European Poker Tour (EPT).
While their series always feature a number of turbo events, there has never been a series entirely dedicated to turbo poker. Never until 2012, that is. Just recently PokerStars rolled out the schedule for the first ever Turbo Championhip of Online Poker (TCOOP)
Sometimes a tournament will take place in which very few of these amateurs make it to the final table, though. The recent The Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic was an example of this.
